Dark Orbit the game explained

If you are looking for one of the best, free, online space shooters out there you need to take a look at Dark Orbit. This game goes beyond just the normal free flash game. Dark Orbit immerses you in a world of space exploration and combat with real, live players. Communication and teamwork are essential if you expect to not only survive, but thrive out in the wilderness of space.

The game begins with you choosing one of three corporations to work for: Mars, Earth, and Venus. Each of these different planetary companies has a unique philosophy and approach to the mining of space. Mars is the most independent and values ruthlessness and drive from their miners. If you are looking to climb to the top as fast possible, and do not care who you step over along the way, this is the company for you. Venus is about corporation and using each other within the company to grow as a whole. This environment is very supportive, but it can be restrictive as well. Somewhere in between is Earth. After you have selected what company to work with you are then ready to begin play. In your hangar you will find your first ship. This is provided to you by the company. Hop out into space and start looking around. There you will find enemy ships and various scrap metals you can collect. Simply start off by collecting what you can and taking it back home to sell. Once you do this for a while you should easily be able to save up enough money to improve you ship. Do not spend all your money on this, as you are going to want to upgrade from the base ship as soon as possible. Once you start down this path you will have the basics of the game and should be able to easily grow your wealth and items from there.

There is a rich and deep world out there to explore in Dark Orbit

. Most online multiplayer games are not free, and the ones that are usually not this well developed. From a pure gamer perspective, this is one of the best deals you can find. The graphics may not blow you away, but the simple game play and missions make this game one of the easiest to simply pick up and run with.

You can play the game through any browser, although it is recommended that you use either the newest version of either Internet Explorer or Firefox. Both of these browsers are able to best support all of the functionality within the game. Other browsers are not supported and can run into issues. Other than the browser all you need is an active Internet connection and you are ready to play. No monthly fees, no disks to install, no complicated setups, just create an account and away you go.

The first time I stepped in and started playing I found the game to be a bit simplistic and was not immediately drawn to it. As I progressed in the game however I ran into other players and we began working together to develop our skills and ships together. Slowly this group grew bigger and bigger as I become more involved in the game. Now it is the primary game that I play, and most amazingly it is by far the least expensive. If at first you are not totally into the game give it some time, Dark Orbit will definitely grow on you.
