Dark Orbit: Starting out
Everyone starts out in a Phoenix ship. The at this point you can collect and process enough uri to buy a bigger ship, weapons, and shield, or hunt aliens (automated non-player ships) which will earn you credit by collecting their cargo upon their annihilation. At this point it is tough because more often than not the moment you venture out a bigger ship will be lurking near by. The secret is use the yellow indicator in the mini map and keep track for the presents of our ships near by.
The nice thing is that it does not cost anything to repair your ship when you start out. But it will take a longer time of play to be able to get the necessary credits to buy “elite” items. No need to worry if you do not want to purchase credit because I know of many people who have not spent a dime and are currently owners of some of the best ships, which are call Goliath.
The other quicker option is to purchase uri credits and become a premium member. Although this will save you a lot of time in collecting, it is not the cure all, you will still need to go out and kill aliens and collect uri in order to advance in the game. And even having a bigger better equipped ship will not help you avoid getting kill. You will still need to pick your fights as their are gangs of smaller ships or a more advance ships out there that can give you a lot of problems.
