Dark Orbit- The free route
I have been thinking about what I would have done if I wanted to play Dark Orbit, but did not want to spend any money. This blog post is about what I would do if I was starting out again and going the FREE route.
1. Stay on the first map collect as many bonus boxes as you can. They are found mostly around the galaxy area of the map ( top left corner) . Just keep flying around and collect bonus boxes.
2. Do all of the first level quests, stop when at the Lordiaka quests. You will not be able to kill them without being kill at this point.
3. Kill as many as first level aliens ( Streuners) as possible. You will get 400 credits and 400 experience points per kill.
4. save you money till you can buy a drone. 100,000 credits
5.Kill more aliens until you can buy a laser for it 40,000 credits
6. Kill more aliens until you can get your 2nd drone and arm it with the same laser.
7. You should try to get at least 4 drones before buying a Bigboy ship. (200,000 credits)
Once you’re at this level it will be a lot easier to start killing aliens and the enemy ships.
8. Get into a clan and ask for a donation of Uri and credits. You can use this to purchase a Goliath or
9. Do the rest of the quest and save up until you have enough to buy a Goliath.
If you skip step 8, it will take you a little longer because with a new ship every time that you die, it will cost 500 Uridium to repair the ship. I would recommend staying in the Phoenix for as long as possible to save up your Uridium.
Also if you want to go the cloak and gathering bonus route, you can get quite a bit of Uridium. I have manage to collect a couple of thousand Uridium in a few hours of play by going the cloak route. The nice thing is that you buy the cloak once and it is good until you decide to attack. Even if you die while cloaked, you will come back cloaked.
Also if you want to kill the first level aliens a lot quicker, you can use a uri rocket.
