There were some players who complained about a lag in the system or losing a lock on an enemy’s ship. A lot of the problems can be solve by keeping your computer clean and optimized for good play. I would recommend you do a complete cleaning of you computer every so often to all these issues. There are free programs on the web to do this or you can use some of the MS programs that came with your computer.

Note: When cleaning registries make sure to do it correctly or you will end up losing a lot of useful programs on your computer like I did.

FYI: With regardless to the lock, the recent March update makes it so that if you have a lock on a player and he makes a jump out of the neutral zone, you will lose the lock on him. But if he were to remain in the neutral zone than it is good.
